Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland by way of two Jamaican parents, educated in New York City, and hell-bent on telling good stories, Avon Haughton has found a pathway to freedom through narrative. He has studied acting, fiction writing, screenwriting, and aesthetics all in the name of proving to himself that freedom is attainable and that words will carry him there. He has chosen the mediums of film and television as he feels they’re the most fitting marriage of all of his storytelling facets. In his work, Avon explores the extraordinary and often overlooked nuance in marginalized people through love, fantasy, futurism.
